many injured in alcohol-related crashes on Butte County roadways,
and
WHEREAS, driving impaired by., alcohol and other drugs is
one of our most serious health and safety problems, and
WHEREAS, this senseless carnage on our roadways can be
reduced through increased awareness of what can and should be done
to prevent it, and
WHEREAS, we need informed, concerned citizens who. would
be willing to help reduce the needless deaths and injuries by taking
personal responsibility as hosts and hostesses or devoting time and
effort toward upgrading community programs, and
WHEREAS, all members of the Sutte County Board of Supervisors
fully support efforts to provide for the health and safety of our
citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, 8E IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board
of Supervisors do proclaim December 15 through December 21, 1985
as "Drunk and Drugged Driving Awareness Week"" and we strongly urge
all citizens to learn what they can do to prevent drunk and drugged
driving during the upcoming holiday season.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors, County
of Butte this 3rd day of December, 1985, by the following vote:
RYES: Supervisors Dolan, N1cTnturf, Wheeler and Chairman Fulton
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor McLaughlin
NOT VOTING: None
