RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING DISTRICT ATTORNEY
TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH OCJP
TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR PR05ECUTION
OF CRIMES INVOLVING MARIJUANA
WHEREAS, the District Attorney-of Butte County desires to enter
into an agreement with the Office of Criminal Justice Planning (OCJP) in
accordance with Senate Bi11 1139, and the California Major Narcotic Vendors
Prosecution Law, Chapter 9 of Title 6, Part 4, of the Penal Code; and
WHEREAS, the County of Butte has previously submitted to OCJP
Resolution 85-189 which this resolution will rescind and supersede; and
WHEREAS, the County of Butte desires to undertake a certain
project designated the Major Narcotic Vendor Prosecution Project to be
funded from funds made available through state general funds - SB 1139.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County District
Attorney is authorized to submit, on behalf of the County of Butte, an
application for state funds under the Plajor Narcotic Vendor Prosecution
Program to the Offices of OCJP.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Butte County District Attorney
is authorized to execute any extensions or amendments to the Major Narcotic
Vendor Prosecution Program under the rules and regulations of OCJP.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that these funds will not supplant any
expenditures controlled by this body.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of December, 1985, by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Mclnturf, McLaughlin, Wheeler and
Chaz.xman Fulton
