services; and
WHEREAS, services are often provided and coordinated by dedicated
volunteers; and
WHEREAS, many community and individual needs would go unmet without
such services; and
WHEREAS, effective service delivery can improve the quality of life
for all residents; and
WHEREAS, services are most often offered free of charge or for a
minimal fee; and
WHEREAS, service delivery is often flexible to better meet the needs
of all residents; and
WHEREAS, organizations generate revenues from outside of Butte County
and therefore create employment opportunities for many residents; and
WHEREAS, most organizations provide a high quality of service with
minimal funding; and
WHEREAS, organizations depend upon community support and involvement
for continued existence; and
WHEREAS, the City of Oroville is commited to supporting and
acknowledging the work of nonprofit organizations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Butte County Board of Supervisors
proclaims the second week of March 19$b and each year thereafter as "Nonprofit
Awareness Week."

this 19th day of February, 7986, by the following vote:
