HomeMy WebLinkAbout86-033RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION OF CARMEL ANDREW SPINALE WHEREAS, Carmel Andrew Spinale joined the Oroville Police Department as a relief officer in 1950 and was hired as a full-time officer of the department in 1951; and WHEREAS, in 1951 Carmel Andrew Spinale left the Oroville Police Department to operate his own private business; and WHEREAS, in 1952 Carmel Andrew Spinale rejoined the Oroville Police Department as a full-time employee; and WHEREAS, in 1965 Officer Spinale was promoted to Detective Sergeant; then in 1967 he was promoted to Detective Lieetenant; then in 1981 he was promoted to Detective Captain; and WHEREAS, in 1964 Carmel Andrew Spinale was named Peace Officer of the Year by the Butte County Peace Officers Association and the Oroville Exchange Club; and he received the State of California Award of Valor from Governor Edmund "Pat" Brawn; and WHEREAS, in 1982 Carmel Andrew Spinale was again named Peace Officer of the Year by the Oroville Exchange Club; then in 1983 he was named Police Officer of the Year by the City of Oroville; and WHEREAS, Carmel Andrew Spinale retired from the Oroville Police Department on February 28, 1986 after serving the Oroville community for more than 34 years. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board, on its own behalf, and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte, expresses deep appreciation for the unselfish dedication and devotion displayed by Carmel Andreae Spinale during the 34 plus years he has served the Oroville area. -z- PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, this 18th day of March, 1986 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Dolan, FuTton> McInturf, Wheeler and Chairman Fulton NOES: PJone ABSENT: Nane NOT VOTING: None S ED MCLAIJGHLIN, Chai an of the Butte County Board of Supervisors ATTEST: MARTIN J.
