RESOLUTION OF THE BUTTE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS AUTHORIZING A FOURTH SUPERIOR COURT JUDGESHIP WHEREAS, California Judicial Council has reviewed the workload of the Butte County Superior Court; and WHEREAS, California Judicial Council has recommended a fourth judicial position for the Butte County Superior Court; and WHEREAS, Section 69581 of the Government Code, amended by the Statutes of 1985, Chapter 1607, Section 4 states: "In the County of Butte there shall be three judges in the Superior Court; provided that at such time as the Butte County Board of Supervisors finds there are sufficient funds for one additional judge and adopts a resolution to that effect, there shall be four judges of the Superior Court." WHEREAS, the State of California provides a block grant of $60,000 for each judicial position authorized after 1973; and WHEREAS, the block grant provides funding for the immediate costs associated with a judgeship. NOW, THEREFORE and as required by Government Code Section 69581 as amended, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors finds there are sufficient funds for one additional judge of the Butte County Superior Court.
