HomeMy WebLinkAbout86-108RETURN TO PdBLIC WORKS DEPT. j f ~`°~ ~;. . • ;, ~:~..: - ~ - ~ ~r :c~,' ~~~~ ~: BQARD OF SUPERVISORS ** = ~ ° *~ COl1NTY QF Bl1TTF_, STATE OF C_ALIFC~RNIA s~~• ~ •03 y • . ;~ w . ~~, ~~ ~q.. ~ ~• ~~z~^ ~ . . ,~,# ResoTufion No. ~6-tos ~~ RESOLUTION INCORPORATING THAT PORTION OF A PRIVATE FRONTAGE ROAD LOCATED IN BUTTE COUNTY INTO THE BUTTE COUNTY SYSTEM OF ROADS WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) desires to eliminate a private access to the east side of Route 99 about 300 feet north of Butte Creek; and WHEREAS, a private frontage road (Southgate Lane} has been constructed in Butte County on the east side of Route 99 between Butte Creek and Southgate Avenue as shown on attached Exhibit "A"; and WHEREAS, Caltrans desires to connect the private access road to a public road thereby eliminating the undesirable direct access to Route 99 in conjunction with the proposed four-lane expressway project; and WHEREAS, the northerly 250 feet of the private frontage road is included in an area annexed by the City of Chico leaving the remaining 2,470± feet in the County of Butte; and WHEREAS, the private frontage road will need to be converted to a public road grior to making said connection; and WHEREAS, Caltrans proposes to extend the frontage road to the property line at the southerly end and agrees to do certain work on the frontage road as requested by the County of Butte as follows: 1. Overlay Southgate with 0.13 feet of asphalt concrete. 2. Provide permanent solution for drainage, eliminating existing dry wells. 3. Provide 'flee title right of way for Southgate Lane. Plans and specifications for work to be reviewed and approved by County prior to construction; and WHEREAS, the aforesaid work is to be accomplished in conjunction with the construction of Caltrans' four-lane expressway project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County Board of Supervisors of Butte County agrees to accept that portion of the private frontage road located within Butte County into the County system of public roads, and thereby agrees to accept maintenance and control of that portion of road upon completion of the work, it being understood that a revised Freeway Agreement incorporating said revision is to be entered into at some future date.
