WHEREAS, Chapter 186, Statutes of 1986, Item $100-101-001-mrr,
provided $2,750,000 to the State Controller for allocation to counties
for costs associated with marijuana production and eradication; and
WHEREAS, Butte County is entitled to receive $500,000 under
this program; and
WHEREAS, the previously mentioned Chapter and Statutes of
1986 require the County of Butte to designate a county official to
submit a claim for payment for $250,000 of the funds for the Campaign
Against Marijuana Planting; and
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Department is required to submit a
claim on behalf of the county for another $250,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board
of Supervisors authorizes the Auditor-Controller to submit the required
claim. for payment of funds for the Campaign Against Marijuana Planting
for $250,000 and requests that the Auditor-Controller coordinate the
Sheriff's claim for submittal of $250,000.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of August, 1986,
by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, McInturf and Chairman McLaughlin
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisors Fulton and Wheeler
NOT VOTING: None
