Resolufion No. 86-120
RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING BUTTE COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
CORPORATION AS THE COUNTY-WIDE AGENCY FOR SERVICES LINKING
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND JOB TRAINING
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors recognized the
need for full employment, economic stablization and expanding the county's
economic base, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors and the Butte County Private
Industry Council established in 1981 the Butte County Economic Development
Corporation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the Butte County Economic Development
Corporation is to foster economic development in order to alleviate high
unemployment, create job opportunities and to stabilize the economic base
of Butte County; and
WHEREAS, the policies of the Butte County Economic Development
Corporation are:
protect and promote the quality of life in Butte County
protect and enhance the agricultural base of Butte County
encourage the location and expansion of business and
industry
promote small business development
provide county-wide effort of cooperation and coordination
to enhance the image of Butte County
- provide the tools and resources necessary for effective
economic development process
promote public/private partnership projects; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Butte County Economic
Development Corporation are representative of all communities in the County
of Butte and representative of the Board of Supervisors.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Soard of
Supervisors, State of California that recognition is given to the Butte
County Economic Development Corporation as the organization implementing
the goals of the Butte County Economic Development Policy, creating new
job opportunities and economic benefit for all of our citizens and to enhance
our agricultural, industrial and commercially diversified economic bases.

PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 16th day of September Iggb, by the
Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan> Fulton, h4cInturf, Wheeler and Chairman McLaughlin
