A RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITIO>~t OF DON SHAFFER
WHEREAS, Don 5haffer's career in journalism began on the
netivspaper at Camp BucEcley, Colorado, while he was serving in the United
States Army Air Force during World War II; and
WHEREAS, he spent 15 years on the Anaheim Bulletin as sports
editor, then as managing editor; and
WHEREAS, in June 1965, he moved from Anaheim to Oroville,
California, where he has devoted 27 years to responsible reporting
and editing the news in a non-partisan way for the people of Oroville;
and
WHEREAS, he is retiring and moving with his wife to La Ribero,
Baja California, and will be missed by his many friends in Butte County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors,
County of Butte, on its on behalf and on the behalf of all its citizens,
does hereby proclaim its appreciation far Don Shaffer and all his
many contributions to this community.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors, County of
Butte, State of California, this 76th day of September, 1986, by the
fo1Towing vote:
