Dear Mr. Nichols:
AG~NdA IN~pR~ATION
DEC'`-219$5
rJ. d
In the 1986-87 annual school impact fees report submitted to the City
and the County on .September 23, 19$6,_it was requested that interim;
school facilities fees previously established by the City and the
County be modified to a fee based on square footage of new residential
construction within GUSD. This modification was set up in a similar
fashion to the original fee so that there would be a tiered structure
whereby each residential unit would be classified according to a range
of square footage.
Based on a review of the impact of the tiered structure as requested
by Chico City Council members, we request that the fee modification be
based on a straight $.80 per square foot, as apposed to the three
tiered structure. An $.$0 per square foot fee will provide far a mare
equitable distribution. In order to implement the $.80 per square
foot fee we request that the City and County resolutions be modified
to reflect fees as follows:
A. New dwelling units
°. B. Expansion of existing
3 dwelling units or replace-
~L ment dwelling units
-~E-
$.$0 per square foot of new area
$.80 per square foot~of
additional area
As has been commuzzicated to both the City and the County, it is
critical that these fees be modified as quickly as possible in order
for the District to have the ability to receive funds needed to cover
the financial commitment to provide needed classroom facilities.
Sincerely,
-~'~.~ ~1
