The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, do ordain as follows:
1. Chapter 4 of the Code of Butte County, California, is
amended by adding the follows:
"ARTICLE IVo ANIMALS AT LARGE
S~~c. 4-21. Animals running at large,
It shall be unlawful for any person owning or having the
control of, or being the keeper of, any horse, mule, cow, goat,
sheep, hog, ass, or domestic fowl, to permit the same to run at
large upon or graze or feed upon any public street or unfenced lot
in the county, Any animal so running at large may be impounded,if
said animal is not claimed within a period of 72 hours, such
animal may be disposed of, Any animal impounded may be claimed
by the owner if the owner pays the pound keeper a fee of $2000
for pickups $5.00 fee for trailer use, $5,00 fee for horse use
for capturing said animal, together with feed and care at the rate
of $,75~ per day,"
2, This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30} days after
its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days
after its passage, it shall be published at least once with the
names of the supervisors voting for or against the same in a
local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of
California,

1965, by the following vote:
