RESOLUTION AMEtdDIPlG SECTIOPJ 12.10 OF TF;E PERSONNEL RULES
I+JHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors .finds it to be in the interest of the
County to amend the Personnel Rules,
NOhJ, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the board of Supervisors of the County of
Butte hereby amend Section 12.10 of the Personnel Rules of the County of Butte
to read as follows:
12.10 VOLUNTARY DEP90TIOPJ
A regular employee who, upon approval of the appointing
authority, voluntarily demotes to a position having a
lower salary range than that held by the employee and for
which the employee meets the minimum qualifications as
determined by the Personnel Director, shall receive the
same salary rate the employee would otherwise be entitled
to on the date the voluntary demotion is effective or the
nearest lower applicable rate. A probationary employee
must complete the probationary period in the demotion class.
An employee who held permanent status in a class with a
salary range higher than that to which the employee has
voluntarily demoted shall not be required to serve a new
probationary period.
A promoted employee, who during the orobationary period
voluntarily demotes to a class with a lower salary range,
shall have the assigned pay rate and merit advancement date
in the lower classification computed upon the pay rate and
merit advancement date the employee held prior to the
promotion.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors ti~is 6th day
January, 1937 by the following vote to be effective upon passage.
AYES: Supervisors McInturf, McLaughlin, Vercruse and Chair Dolan
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor Fulton
NOT VOTING: None
