RESOLUTION IN MEMORY OF JUDGE WILLIAM M. SAVAGE
WHEREAS, this Board was grieved to learn of the death of
William M. Savage, former Judge of the Oroville Judicial Aistrict; and
WHEREAS, William M. Savage was first elected Judge of the Oroville
Judicial District on the ballot of June 3, 1952 and assumed office January 5,
1953; and
WHEREAS, William M. Savage also served as a Superior Court Judge and
Municipal Court Judge during his tenure of office and was appointed by the
Chief Justice as Circuit Justice Court Judge on January 25, 1977.
WHEREAS, Will~.am M. Savage was re-elected to subsequent terms of
office unopposed until is retirement from the County of Butte on June 1, 1980;
and
WHEREAS, William M. Savage served the citizens of the County of
Butte with distinction and with unselfish devotion for 27 years; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. That this Board hereby memorializes its appreciation for the
many years of service rendered to the County of Butte by William M. Savage
during his lifetime.
2. That this Board wishes to express to the family of
William M. Savage its deepest and heartfelt condolences on their loss.
3. That the regular meeting of this Board held on the 3rd day of
February, 1987 be adjourned in memory of William M. Savage.

day of February, 1987, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Fulton, McInturf, McLaughlin, Vercruse and Chair Dolan
