HomeMy WebLinkAbout87-043.4; '~O: `;pq: .*: `.~G -; WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors has recognized a continuing erosion of property tax and sales tax revenues to the county caused by selective annexation of the City of Chico; and WHEREAS, the City of Chico proposes the annexation of Harry's Pitcher Beer and Arne's Paint Store, both located on the southwest corner of the Esplanade and West Ninth Avenue intersection, without any accompanying residential zones; and WHEREAS, the Butte County Local Agency Formation Commission has a policy prohibiting selective annexations of commercial zones for the purpose of revenue generation; and WHEREAS, the annexation proposed would contribute to the cumulative envi- ronmental impacts of annexations in the area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of 5uper- visors: 1. Recommends to the City of Chico and the Local Agency Formation Commis- sion that an environmental impact report be written for this project addressing at least the issues of cumulative financial impacts and the continuing ability of the county to deliver services. 2. Opposes the proposed annexation of these commercial properties.
