IiSSRSAS, the Oroville-Quincy Highxay has been a transportation route
joining the counties of Butte and Plumas for more thaw ane hundred years; and
IiBSRSAS, said Oroville-Quincy Highxay has been is a state of
disrepair and mgleet for many years, causing untold hardship to persons and
vehicles alike; and
NHSREAS, the °reconstruction of this highway xas only economically
feasible to Butte and Plumes County by use of Federal Forest Highway
funds and a joint agreement by the counties for maintenance and
jurisdictional responsibilities; and
flHSRSAS, after years of disagreement, both counties have now
accepted responsibility for the Oroville-Quincy Highxay, thereby alloxing for
its reconstruction; and
WHSRSAS, the decision of the Plumes County Board of Supervisors to
permit reconstruction of this highway will immeasurably benefit hundreds of
Butte County citizens, Bucks Lake proper-ty oxners and businesses, Plumes
County citizens and untold numbers of other Califoraiaas.
NOW, THSRSFORS, BS IT RSSOLVSD`that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors does herewith extend our most sincere appreciation to the Plumes
County Board of Supervisors and, likexise, commend them for their judgment and
foresight in an act that xe believe will provide a base upon which to build
further bands of friendship, goodxill and further mutually advantageous
endeavors.
