HomeMy WebLinkAbout87-048Y".'" ~, °~'! ~ r ~~~ BOARD OF SUPERV'ISCURST~ ,~ f ". ;'k ~ ~,~ *i COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA .~ :`p '~ ' ' ~ tiiQ •~~~~~~~` "'"'*~ ~,~G. ft.esolufion No. 'r++~CQ~ ~*tt 87-48 RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING BUTTE SPECIAL OLYMPICS, INC./AUCTION WHEREAS, Butte Special Olympics, Inc. was formed for the purpose of providing developmentally disabled persons with exciting opportunities in a competitive atmosphere; and WHEREAS, Butte Special Olympics, Inc. is devoted to developing, expanding and improving special Olympic games year-round; and WHEREAS, in 1986 the Butte Special Olympics had 200 participants, sent 27 athletes to the state games in Los Angeles, and brought back 36 medals to Butte County of which 12 were gold medals; and WHEREAS, the training, coaching, transportation and facility costs provided by Butte Special Olympics requires financial participation from individuals and members of the business community to assist special athletes benefiting from the program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors that they recognize and support the Butte Special 07ympics, Inc. and encourage all to participate in the "Silent Auction" to be held at Chico Holiday Inn on March 26, 1987.
