NHSRBAS, each year over 150,000 children is the United States
disappear; and
WHEREAS, many more are abused and subjected to violence; and
iTHEREAS, the Ident-A-Child Program in Butte County started in April
1984 by video taping and fingerprinting youngsters, with over 4,500 children
participating in the program to date; and
WHEREAS, the Ident-A-Child Program in Butte County has been
instrumental in formulating chapters in Shasta, Tehama, Glenn, Yuba and Sutter
counties; and
{iHEREAS, the Butte County Ident-A-Child Program is sponsored by
Chico Community Hospital, Chico Enterprise Record, City of Chico Police
Department, Butte County Sheriff's Office, KHSL TV and Chico-Paradise radio
broadcasters; and
itHEREAS, the Butte County Ident-A-Child Frogram is undertaking a
major fund raising activity in order to purchase its own equipment; namely,
video cameras, video cassette recorders, and supplies which are presently
borrowed or donated.
MON, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board of
Supervisors that they wholeheartedly support the Ident-A-Child Program in the
upcoming fund raising activity, "The Unrehearsed Celebrity Fashion Show" to be
held at the California Park Pavilion in Chico on March 28, 1987.
