OPPOSING
RESOLUTION OF THE BUTTE
OF SUPERVISORS
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors has recognized a continuing
erosion of property tax and sales tax revenues to the county caused by selective annexa-
tion of the City of Chico; and
WHEREAS, the City of Chico proposes to annex the commercial properties
located near the intersection of East Avenue and The Esplanade known as Chuck
Patterson Car Sales, R. Fish and Company, PDQ Market, and others without any accom-
panying residential zones; and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Loca{ Agency Formation Commission has a policy
prohibiting selective annexations of commercial zones for the purpose of revenue
generation; and
WHEREAS, the annexation proposed would contribute to the cumulative envi-
ronmental impacts of annexations in the area.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Super-

Commission that an environmental impact report be written
for this project addressing at a minimum the issues of cumulative
financial impacts in the continuing ability of the county to deliver
services.
2. Opposes the proposed annexations of these commercial properties.
