RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING OCTOBER 25-31, 1987 AS
RED RIBBON WEEK
WHEREAS, Californians for Drug Free Youth, Inc., a statewide
parent/community organization, and the California Department of Alcohol and Drug
Programs are co-sponsoring "Red Ribbon Week" October 25-31, 1987; and
WHEREAS, schools, business, law enforcement, churches, hospitals, service
clubs, government agencies, and individuals in the State of California will
demonstrate their commitment for a drug-free society by wearing and displaying red
ribbons during this week-long campaign; and
WHEREAS, the County of Butte further commits its resources to ensure the
success of the Red Ribbon Campaign.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Butte does hereby support The Red Ribbon Campaign, and the proclamation of
October 25-31, 1987, as "Red Ribbon Week" in the County of Butte, and encourages
its citizens to participate in drug awareness activities, making a visible statement
that we are strongly committed to live a healthy life.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Butte encourages all its citizens to pledge "The Choice For Pte. .Drug Free!"
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 6th day
of October, 1987 by the following vote:
AYES: SUPERVISORS FULTON, McINTURF, McLAUGHLIN, VERCRUSE AND CHAIR DOLAN
