HomeMy WebLinkAbout87-270--~----- --~-r-----. _ . , , _ , . ~ - - - ~~~: ° .,u BOARD (~F SUPERVfSORS CQUNTY QE BEJTTE, ST,4TE pF ,GALaFORNI/~ Resolufion Flo. g7_~70 RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION OF GARRIE HERYFORD WHEREAS, Carrie Heryford joined the California Highway Patrol on September 11, 1961;. and WHEREAS, after graduating from the CHP Academy, Officer Heryford began work as a traffic officer in the Twenty-Nine Palms area; and WHEREAS, from June 10, 1963 to March 29, 1966 Officer Heryford was assigned to the. East Los Angeles area where, in addition to traffic duties, he served in the Special Enforcement Unit; and WHEREAS, from March 30, 1966 to July 18, 1967 Officer Heryford worked in and around the San Diego area; and WHEREAS, from July 19, 1967 to July 20, 1972 Officer Heryford was assigned to the San Bernardino enforcement area where, in addition to traffic duties, he served as a passenger vehicle inspection officer; and WHEREAS, from July 21, 1972 through September 9, 1987 Officer Heryford was assigned to the Oroville enforcement area where, in addition to traffic duties, he served as specia3 duty officer in charge of the schoal bus program, vehicle inspections, court liaison work, and other duties; and WHEREAS, in 1986, Carrie Heryford was recognized as the CHP Officer of the year by the Exchange Club of Chico. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Soard, on its own behalf, and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte,would like to express deep appreciation for the unselfish dedication and devotion given by Carrie Heryford during the 26 years he has worked for the California Highway Patrol. -2-- PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 17th day of November, 1987, by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Fulton, McInturf, McLaughlin and Chair Dolan NOES: NONE ABSENT: Supervisor Vercruse NOT VOTING: NONE (~ r~ JAN AN, Char of the utte C unty Board of Supervisors MARTIN J.
