CALIFORNII~, ZONING A PORTION OF SAID COUNTY, REFERRING
TO EXISTING ORDINANCES DIO. 475, 522 and 676 OF BUTTE
COUNTY, Ai~iD DECLARIivG Atv E~~RGENCY
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of Cali-
fornia, do ordain as follows:

SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situate in the County
or Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby zoned as
an R-1 (Single Family Residential) District, and such area shall be
subject to the regulations and restricted uses hereinafter speci-
fied and provided, said area so zoned being located in the unincor-
porated area of Butte County west of the City of Gridley, Cali-
',fornia, and particularly described as follows:

as shown in the office of the Butte County Planning
Commission and the Office of the Butte County Clerk
SECTION 2. The following regulations shall apply in an "R-1"
(District:
2.1 Uses Permitted:
a. Single family dwellings, not including tents or
trailers.
b. Accessory buildings pertinent to the permitted uses.
c. The following regulations subject to tine securing of a
use permit in each case:
1) Golf courses and country clubs.
2) Public and quasi-public uses including churcizes,
fire houses, hospitals, parks and playgrounds,
schools and public utility buildings...::."
3) Private stables.
2.2 Building Site Area Required: Eight thousand, one hundred
twemL-y-five (8,125) square feet.
2.3 Minimum Building Site Ulidth Required: Sixty-five (65) feet
2.4 N~"nimum Front Yard Required: Fifty (50) feet from the
centerline of the road, except where said road is classifie
by the Count~T as a Federal Aid Secondary road, in which cas
the setback shall be fifty-five (55) feet from the center-
line of the road.
2.5 Minimum Side Yard Required: Five (5) feet.
SECTION 3. The penalties for violations of the zoning hereby
imposed upon said district shall be as provided in the said Zoning
Enabling Ordinance.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be, and it is hereby declared
to be in full force and effect from and after the date of its
passage, pursuant to the emergency hereinafter found and declared;
and it shall remain in full force and effect until such time as a
permanent ordinance covering the above-described area shall take
effect, following notice, public hearings and such other procedures
as are provided in said Zoning Enabling Ordinance, or until such

time as the Board of Supervisors shall determine that the said area
2 shall not be zoned as an "R-1" District.
3 SECTION 5. For the immediate preservation of the public peace,
health and safety of the area hereinabove described, and the
4 residents and inhabitants thereof, it is necessary that this ordi-
Hance take effect immediately. A declaration of the facts consti-
6 tuting the necessity therefor is as follows:
g The adoption of such Interim Zoning Plan is necessary
in the public interest, to maintain the status quo in such
q district pending the determination of the application for
such permanent detail zoning.

SECTIOiv 6. This emergency ordinance shall take effect immedi-
g iately upon its passage and before the expiration of fifteen (15)
days after its passage shall be published once, with the names of
10 all members voting for and against the same, in the Gridley Herald,
a newspaper published in said County of Butte.

T2 Butte, State of California, this 3rd day of ~ May _ 1966,
by the following vote:
