Resolution No. 88--013
RESOLUTION CREATING INTERNAL SERVICE FUND
FOR MENTAL HEALTH NIALPRACTTCE-SELF INSURANCE
WHEREAS, the County has found itself in a position wherein it is
economically advantageous to self-ipsure;:hlental Health Malpractice insurance, and
WHEREAS, the County desires to provide separate fund accounting for
Mental Wealth self insurance costs and reserves far reimbursement of future claims
and
J•1HEREAS, §25260 of the Government Code authorized the establishment of
interest bearing internal service funds which may be used for these purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors:
1. That the Auditor-Controller be authorized to establish an internal
service fund for Mental Wealth Malpractice Insurance (Fund 7140) to properly account
for all costs of performing this service and the allocation of the costs to Mental
Health;
2. That the Butte County Mental Health is self insured for malpractice
for the first fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) per occurrence;
3. That the Butte County Mental Health has purchased excess insurance
coverage from fifty thousand and one dollars ($50,001.00) to maximum of five
million dollars ($5,000,000.00) per occurrence;
4. That the County Administrative Officer, or his designee, be directed
to coordinate, monitor and periodically report to the Board on the progress of this
program.

day of February 19 88 , by the fo71ow.ing vote:
