Resolufion No. 88-033
RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION OF
DONALD F7. MORTON
WHEREAS, Donald N3. Morton joined the California Highway
Patrol on July 13, 1959; and
WHEREAS, after graduating from the CHP Academy on
October 8, 1959, Officer Morton began work as a traffic officer
in the Indio area; and
WHEREAS, from March 23, 1960 to March 28, 1962 Officer
Morton was assigned to traffic enforcement in the San Francisco
Area; and
WHEREAS, from 1962 to October 31, 1987 Officer Morton
was assigned to the Oroville enforcement area; and
WHEREAS, since moving to the Oroville area Officer
Morton has been involved in many community events and
organizations, including four years as a leader in the Cub Scouts
and Boys Scouts; nine years as Coach, Manager and Vice President
of the Thermalito Little League; eight years of service on the
Thermalito School Board; 15 years working for the Max Baer Sport
Night; and he is a member of Eagle Aerie #196.
NOW, THffitEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED this Board on its own
behalf, and an behalf of the residents of the County of Butte,
would like to express deep appreciation for the unselfish
dedication and devotion given b~ Donald W. Morton during the 28
years he has worked for the California Highway Patrol.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of
Supervisors this 15th day of March, 1988, by the fallowing vote:
