HomeMy WebLinkAbout88-048RESOLUTION ADOPTING ROAD IMPROVEMENT STANDARDS FOR NON-URBAN AREA PRIVATE ROADS PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 20 OF THE BUTTE COUNTY CODE WHEREAS, under the provisions of Chapter 20 of the Butte County Code, standards governing road construction are to be established by resolution by the Board of Supervisors. WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 87-16, February 3, 1987, which established certain road improvement standards; and WHEREAS, since the implementation of said standards it has become apparent that amendments therein are desirable; and WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has recommended amendments to said standards, as shown on Exhibit 1 attached hereto; and WHEREAS, the proposed road standards have been studied and reviewed by the Butte County Board of Supervisors at its regular public meeting on April 26 1988; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors finds the amendments will promote and protect the general health, welfare and safety of Butte County residents; and WHEREAS, the proposed road standards will allow access by the public and emergency vehicles through sufficient road widths, road base requirements and surfacing; and WHEREAS, the proposed road standards will continue to tie construction criterion to land use density as required by the Circulation and Land Use Elements of the Butte County General Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED, that Appendix IT standards RS-8-LD I, II, TII, TV and V are repealed in their entirety. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that new Appendix TI road improvement standards RS-B-LD I, II, III and IV, as set forth in Exhibit I attached hereto, are hereby adopted. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, said new road standards shall apply to road construction on-site. From the project site to the nearest publicly maintained road, standard RS-8-LD I shall apply. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the "Improvement standards for subdivisions, parcel maps, and site improvements pursuant to Chapter 20 of the Butte County Code" be endorsed to show the above amendments have been approved by this Board.
