RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING MAY 1-7,1988 AS
"HIRE A VETERAN WEEK"
WABREAS, the citizens of Butte County owe a tremendous debt to
all the brave members of our Armed Forces who have helped to preserve.
our freedom and way of life; and
WHEREAS, despite their courageous service to this country, some
veterans have difficulty readjusting to their homeland and suffer great
hardship and emotional stress as well as physical pain; and
WH6RSA5, due to these unfortunate circumstances, veterans may
encounter difficulty 3n securing employment; and
WHEREAS, Americans can make these courageous soldiers more
welcome in their native land by providing them with employment
opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the State Employment Development Department, through
its special employment services, helped to place over 40,000 veterans
in meaningful employment in 1987/88;
NOM, TH~tEFORS. BB IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors, do hereby proclaim May 1-7, 1988 as Hire A Veteran Week and
urge Butte County citizens to join in this observance.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Butte, State of California, on the 3rd day of May, 1988, by the
following vote:
