Resolution No. 88-056
RESOLUTION DECLARING MMAY._ 1988 AS OLDER AMERICAN MONTH
WHEREAS, the welfare and wellbeing of Older Americans are a matter
of national and local concern for all people; and
WHEREAS, approximately 21~ of Butte County's population is composed
of people 65 years old and older; and
WHEREAS, there are programs in Butte County which are developed to
meet the physical, medical, and social needs of Older Americans; and
WHEREAS, the month of May is recognized as Older American Month and
throughout Butte County there shall be activities and programs which focus on
Older Americans.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors declares the period of May 1 to May 31, 1988, Older American Month
and urges all residents of Butte County to recognize and participate in this
special observance.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this
17th day of May , 1988, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Fulton, McLaughlin, Vercruse ancf Chairman McInturf
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor Bolan
NOT VOTING: None
