RESOLUTION OF THE BUTTE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
SUPPORTING THE VOLUNTARY DONATION OF BLOOD BY COUNTY EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, voluntary donation of blood is an essential
public service to our community, and
WHEREAS, the need for blood is essential over holiday
periods including the Fourth of July, and
WHEREAS, there is no risk of acquiring AIDS as a result
of donating blood, and
WHEREAS, there is no alternate source for most blood
products, only people can supply many of the blood products
needed for ill and inured individuals requiring transfusion.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a blood drive will
give county emgloyees and the public an opportunity to donate
blood in the Butte County Personnel Training Room, 25 County
Center Drive, Oroville, on Tuesday, July 5, 1988, between 1:00
and 5:00 p.m. Department heads are authorized, at their
discretion, to allow county employees an hour of scheduled time
to provide their blood via the Narth Valley Blood Center as a
life-giving community service.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of June 1988 by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Fu3ton, Mctaugh7in, Vercruse and
Chairman McInturf
NOES : None
ABSENT : None
NOT VOTING: None
