KENTON V. "KEN" GOODHUE
WHEREAS, Kenton V. "Ken" Goodhue joined the California
Highway Patrol on March 11, 1957; and
WHEREAS, after graduating from the CHP Academy, Officer
Goodhue began work as a traffic officer in the Riverside area.
Tn addition to traffic enforcement duties, Officer Goodhue also
performed speed duty assignments involving school pupil safety;
weapons training; supervision of thirteen school crosswalk
guards; and court liason officer for traffic investigation; and
WHEREAS, on January 31, 1969 Officer Goodhue was
promoted to the position of sergeant and assigned to the Banning
area; and
WHEREAS, on July 31, 1973 Sergeant Goodhue was
transferred to the Oroville Enforcement area; and
WHEREAS, in addition to serving the California Highway
Patrol, Sergeant Goodhue has been a police science instructor at
Riverside College and Butte Community College and he has been an
active member of a number of public service organization; and
WHEREAS, in 1988 Officer Goodhue was recognized as the
CHP Officer of the Year by the Chico Exckaange Club.
~FOW, THEREf'ORE, BE IT RESOLVER that this Board, on its
own behalf, and on behalf of the residents of Butte County, would
like to express deep appreciation for the unselfish dedication
and devotion given by Officer Goodhue during the 31 years he has
worked for California Highway Patrol.

19th day of July, 1988 by the following vote:
