RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF
N. T. ENLOE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
WHEREAS, N. T. Enloe Memorial Hospital was originally
founded in Chico on September 15, 1913 by Dr. N. T. Enloe; and
WHEREAS, the original hospital was located on Flume Street
which housed 25 beds and employed three doctors and five nurses; and
WHEREAS, N. T. Enloe Memorial Hospital was relocated on
the Esplanade in 1937; and
WHEREAS, N. T. Enloe Memorial Hospital became a nonprofit
community owned hospital in 1965; and
WHEREAS, in 1980 a five story expansion to the hospital
was added on the Esplanade site; and
WHEREAS, N. T. Enloe Memorial Hospital now serves as a
regional medical center providing special medical services; and
WHEREAS, Enloe Hospital presently encompasses 203 licensed
beds, employs 1500 persons, and has a medical staff of 220
physicians supported by 600 plus volunteers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board
of Supervisors that it hereby recognizes the 75 years service to the
people of Butte County and the efforts which have contributed to a
better way of 13fe for the citizens of the community are
acknowledged and the appreciation of the community is expressed
through this official recognition.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of September, 1988 by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Fulton, McLaughlin, Vercruse and
Chairman Mclnturf
NOES: None

NOT VOTING: None
