RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE BUTTE COUNTY FORUM FOR YOUTH AT RISK
WHEREAS, the Butte County Office of Education is
coordinating the Butte County Forum for Youth at Risk to be held
November 15, 1988 at the Holiday Inn in Chico; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Butte County Forum for Youth
at Risk is to better assist our young people who are at risk through
increased awareness of their needs and problems and development of a
countywide plan of action to better coordinate existing services and
to secure additional state and national resources; and
WHEREAS, youth at risk are increasingly impacting every
segment of our society -- home, economy, schools, government and
community; and
WHEREAS, representatives of youth and their families, who
are also at risk, will be directly involved in the Butte County
Forum for Youth at Risk panels and presentations to bring home their
pressing problems and the need of the county to collectively address
them; and
WHEREAS, planning and participation in the Forum for Youth
at Risk are community, county, state, and national leaders from
business, education, social service agencies, law enforcement,
juvenile justice, probation, economic and employment development,
community based organizations, the media and government.

NOC~7, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board
of Supervisors that it hereby recognizes the Butte County Forum for
Youth at Risk to be held on November 15, 1988 by bringing about an
increased mutual awareness of national, state, and local issues and
information to develop local action plans for coordinating services
and securing funding resources to better assist youth at risk.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of October, 1988 by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Fulton, McLaughlin, Vercruse and
Cfi.airman McInturf
