WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte
intend to consider a proposal for the establishment of a County
Service Area for the financing of feasibility or planning studies
relating to implementation of the Nitrate Action Plan, the
boundaries of which are hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, no proceedings for the establishment of such
service area shall be instituted by this Board or requested by its
members until approval of the Local Agency Formation Commission 3s
first obtained.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED and ordered by the Butte
County Board of Supervisors, as follows:
1. Application and a proposal is hereby made to the Local
Agency Formation Commission in accordance with the Kortese Knox
Reorganization Act of 1985 beginning with Government Code Section
5600, for establishment of a County Service Area. The exterior
boundaries of the proposed Service Area are described in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and made a part hereof by this reference.
2. Establishment of said Service Area is proposed under
County Service Area Law (Chapter 2.2, Part 2, Division 2, Title 3 of
the Government Code beginning with Section 25210.1). The type of
extended service proposed to be is the financing of feasibility or
planning studies relating to implementation of the Nitrate Action
Plan.

3. The Clerk of the Bciard is authorized and directed to
file a certified copy of this resolution with the Executive Officer
of the Butte County Local Agency Formation Commission.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of
Supervisors on this 18th day of October, 1988, by the fallowing
vote:
