HomeMy WebLinkAbout88-166r- q~ ~:~ RESOLUTION IN MEMORY OF LARRY GILLICK WHEREAS, this Board was grieved to learn of the death of George Lawrence "Larry" Gillick, retired and respected Sheriff- Coroner for the County of Butte; axed WHEREAS, Larry Gillick served the County of Butte with distinction and with unselfish devotion for 32 years from January 1951 until he retired on January 3, 1983; and WHEREAS, Larry Gillick was also known for his devotion to youth-oriented community projects, including but not limited to little league baseball and Christmas toyland projects; and WHEREAS, Larry Gillick was also a member of numerous community service and benevolent organizations; and WHEREAS, professionally Larry Gillick was active in the Northern California Peace Officer's Association, National Sheriff's Association, and the Governor's Advisory Group on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, as follows: 1. That this Board memorializes its appreciation of the meritorious services rendered to the County of Butte by Sheriff Larry Gillick during his lifetime. 2. That the condolences and heartfelt sympathy of this Board be extended to his wife Suzanne, and his sons Pat and Mitch. -2- 3. That the regular meeting of this Board held on October 25, 1988 be adjourned in memory of Sheriff Larry Gillick.
