JAMES E. TUPEN
G7r-TEREAS, on October 7, 1960 James E. Tupen became a
member of the California Highway Patrol and was assigned to the
Lancaster area to work as a traffic officer; and
WHEREAS, from 1962 through 1963, Officer Tupen was
assigned to the Madera enforcement area; and
WHEREAS, from 1963 through mid-1967, Officer Tupen was
assigned to the Yuba-Sutter enforcement area; and
WHEREAS, in 1967, Officer Tupen was once again assigned
to work in the Madera area, and
WHEREAS, in June of 1971, Officer Tupen was transferred
to the Oroville enforcement area where he has worked for the last
17 years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board on its own
behalf and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte, would
like to express deep appreciation for the unselfish dedication and
devotion given by James E. Tupen during the 28 years he has worked
for the California Highway Patrol.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of
Supervisors, this 10th day of January, 1989 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, McInturf, McLaughlin, Vercruse and
Chairman Fulton
