HomeMy WebLinkAbout89-008~~ 3° "` '~ ~ ' i'k' » 6 ~~ ~ ~l~;~ _ s_ _ . . ,i .-- -----,----, .. -, -.-----~-~--~- ~-,: ~- BOARD CAP SUPERVISORS COUNTY OF BUTTE, _STA7E OF CALIFO;~NIA Resolufion No. sg-oos RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION OF RICHARD ARDEN GRAY WHEREAS, Richard Arden Gray joined the California Highway Patrol in October, 1958; and WHEREAS, after graduating from the CHP academy, Officer Gray was assigned to Ventura where he worked as a traffic officer until 1961; and WHEREAS, from 1961 to 1969 Officer Gray served as a traffic officer in the Yuba/Sutter enforcement area; and WHEREAS, in 1969 Officer Gray was promoted to Sergeant and assigned to the South Los Angeles area; and WHEREAS, in 1972 Sergeant Gray was promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to West Valley; and WHEREAS, from 1977 through 1988, Lieutenant Gray served as the area Commander for Chico; and WHEREAS, in addition to faithfully serving the people of this state as a member of the California Highway Patrol, Lieutenant Gray has given unselfishly of his own free time by serving on the Sutter Butte Area Council Boy Scouts; the Chico Breakfast Exchange Club; the Board of Directors of the United Way; and the Chico Elks Club. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board, on its own behalf, and on behalf of the residence of the County of Butte would like to express their deep appreciation for the unselfish dedication and devotion given by Richard Arden Gray during the thirty years he has worked for the California Highway Patrol. _2_ PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Soard of Supervisors this 24t1i_ day of .7anuary, 1989 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors McTnturi=, Vercruse and Chairman Fulton NOES : None ABSENTe Supervisors Dolan and McLaughlin NoT voTING: Nnne ((nn `` , ~v` ~ _ LE FULTON, hair9nan of the Bu to County Board of Supervisors ATTEST: Chief A Clem MARTIN
