LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION
REGARDING PROPOSAL FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF A COUNTY SERVICE AREA
FOR FIRE PROTECTION
NOT PROVIDED TO THE SAME EXTENT ON A COUNTYWIDE BASIS
BOTH WITHIN AND WITHOUT CITIE5
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte
intend to consider a proposal for the establishment of a County
Service Area for the following:
The replacement of fire apparatus, the maintenance of
volunteer fire equipment, a Life Safety/Fire Prevention Bureau and
other fire services not provided to the same extent nn a countywide
basis both within and without cities; and
WHEREAS, no proceedings for the establishment of such
service area shall be instituted by this Board or requested by its
members until approval of the Local Agency Formation Commission is
first obtained.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED and ordered by the Butte
County Board of Supervisors, as follows:
1. Application and a proposal is hereby made to the
Local Agency Formation Commission in accordance with the Kortese
Knox Reorganization Act of 1985 beginning with Government Code
Section 5600, for establishment of a County Service Area. The
exterior boundaries of the proposed Service Area are described in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof by this
reference.
2. Establishment of said Service Area is proposed under
County Service Area Law (Chapter 2.2, Part 2, Division 2, Title 3
of the Government Code beginning with Section 25210.1). The type
of extended service proposed to be is:
The replacement of fire apparatus, the maintenance of
volunteer fire equipment, a Life Safety/Fire Prevention
Bureau and other fire services not provided to the same
extent an a countywide basis both within and without
cities; and
8. The Clerk of the Berard is authorized and directed
to file a certified copy of this resolution with the Executive
Officer of the Butte County Local Agency Formation Commission.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California this 25th day of April, 1989
by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Do3an, McInturf, Vercruse and Vice Chairman McLaughlin
NOES: None
ABSENT: Chairman Fulton
