RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING MAY 7 - 13, 1989 AS
HIRE A VETERAN WEEK
WHEREAS, the people of California owe a tremendous debt
to all the brave members of our Armed Forces who have helped to
preserve our freedom and way of life; and
WHEREAS, despite their courageous service to this
country, some veterans have difficulty readjusting to their
homeland and suffer great hardship and emotional stress as well as
physical pain; and
WHEREAS, due to these unfortunate circumstances, veterans
may encounter difficulty in securing employment; and
WHEREAS, Butte County Employers can make these courageous
soldiers more welcome in their native land by providing them with
employment opportunities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board
of Supervisors that they do hereby proclaim May 7 - 13, 1989 as
Hire a Veteran Week and urge all Butte County citizens to join in
this observance.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California this 2nd day of May, 1989 by
the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, McInturf, Vercr~se and Vice Chairman
McLaughlin
NOES: None
ABSENT: Chairman Fulton
NOT VOTING: None
