HomeMy WebLinkAbout89-078;;'~~~~ ~ ~BOAfRD OF SU P'ERV [SORB f ' COIJNTY.O~ BUTTE, .ST,47E OF CALIFORNIA_ Resolution No. 89-078 RESOLUTION CONSOLIDATING THE LAKE OROVILLE AREA PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT ELECTIONS OF DISTRICT DIRECTORS WITH STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTIONS WHEREAS, the election of members of the District's Board of Directors is currently held in November of odd numbered years, not being a day upon which statewide general elections are held; and WHEREAS, the North Burbank Public Utilities District (now Lake Oroville Public Utilities District) Board of Directors adopted Resolution 22-88 on April 13, 1988 consolidating the election of district directors with the statewide general electicn; anal WHEREAS, the Lake Oroville Public Utilities District adopted said resolution pursuant to Elections Code Section 23302.1(b) and 23302.1(b)(1), and all of the procedural requirements of the Elections Code pertaining to the primary or general elections; and WHEREAS, said resolution was submitted in accordance with Elections Code Section 23302.1(c) to the Butte County Board of Supervisors; and WHEREAS, the Butte County Berard of Supervisors has notified all districts located in the County of receipt of the resolution to consolidate and requested input, and nn negative input having been received; and WHEREAS, the elections official has prepared and submitted to the Butte County Board of Supervisors an impact analysis of the proposed consolidation identifying the need to purchase 40 additional Booth/Datavote Punch. combinations in the amount of $15,00 ($335. each) in order to minimize long lines at polling places with the boundary lines of Lake Oroville Public Utilities District. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors approves the resolution of the Lake Ornville Public Utilities District consolidating elections of district directors with statewide general elections; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the $L5,'000 ~' required far the purchase of said 40 Booth/Datavote Punch combinations will be charged to the special districts participating in consolidated elections.
