HomeMy WebLinkAbout89-094i CO,UNTY;OF BUTTE,,,STATE OF CALIFORNIA ~esolufion No. 89-094 RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ESTABLISH COUNTY SERVICE AREA NO. 122 - COUNTY OF BUTTE WHEREAS, pursuant to Title III, Division II, Part 2, Chapter 2.2 of the Government Code of the State of California, the County of Butte has petitioned the Local Agency Formation Commission for formation of County Service Area No. 122; and WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of Butte has approved the formation of County Service Area No. 122. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that County Service Area No. 122 is proposed to be established under the terms of the aforesaid chapter in the unincorporated area of Butte County. 1. The boundary lines of the territories proposed for inclusion in the county service area are described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof by this reference. 2. The county service area shall be called County Service Area No. 122 (County of Butte). The type of extended county services to be provided is the replacement of fire apparatus, the maintenance of volunteer fire equipment, a Life Safety/Fire Prevention Bureau, and other fire services not provided to the same extent on a countywide basis both within and without cities. 3. The Board intends to levy a benefit assessment to pay for the above mentioned services. The benefit assessment will be levied pursuant to the provisions of Title 5, Division 1, Part 1, Chapter 1, Article 3.6 (commencing with Government Code Section 50078). Said benefit assessment will not be assessed for any fiscal year until the report required by Government Code Section 50078.4 has been filed and a public hearing held thereon pursuant to Government Code Sections 50078.6, 50078.8, and 50078.10. -2- On July 11, 1989, at 10:30 a.m., in the Board of Supervisors' Room, County Administration Center, 25 County Center Drive, Oroville, California, a public hearing will be held on the establishment of said area.
