HomeMy WebLinkAbout89-163RESOLUTION DESIGNATING OCTOBER AS AIDS AWARENESS MONTH WHEREAS, the AIDS epidemic continues to be a critical world-wide and national health problem, and WHEREAS, there have been at least 35 diagnosed cases of AIDS in Butte County and 18 deaths due to AIDS, and WHEREAS, one of the best strategies to prevent AIDS is through education and awareness, and WHEREAS, October has been designated as national AIDS Awareness Month, NOW THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors that it recognizes October as AIDS Awareness Month, and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all residents are encouraged to become informed about AIDS and how to prevent it.
