RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING THE THIRD WEER
TN NOVEMBER AS FAMILY WEER
WHEREAS, the values and morals which are so important to
the progress and vitality of our state and nation are deeply rooted
in family strength and unity; and
WHEREAS, a positive family relationship offers a loving
and nurturing environment in which our children may learn to become
mature, knowledgeable and responsible members of society; and
WHEREAS, a strong family experience is instrumental in
promoting many valuable lessons regarding mutual cooperation,
understanding and sharing, and each family has its own unique
history and special relationships that have created bonds of love,
concern and compassion that will last throughout a lifetime; and
WHEREAS, the traditions of family interaction and
socialization are among our most cherished memories, providing the
opportunity to remember loved ones while recalling past joys and
fulfillments; and
WHEREAS, traditionally Americans join with their families
on Thanksgiving Day to celebrate one of our greatest treasures -
the gift of family; and
WHEREAS, while we gather to give thanks for our many
blessings, may we also pray for those who will celebrate this
Thanksgiving Day alone and make an effort to extend our loving care
and comfort to these special people;
WHEREAS, by encouraging and promoting continued interest
in the quality of family life in our neighborhoods and communities,
we can help ensure that our nation remains on a bright and
prosperous path;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County
Board of Supervisors do hereby proclaim November 19-25, 1989 as
Family Week in California and extend tc all every wish for a most
joyous Thanksgiving Day celebration.
