COUNTY, OF BUTTE,_STATE OF CALIFORNIA
Resolufion No. a9-195
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
WHEREAS, the Counties of BUTTE, GLENN, PLUMAS, and COLUSA
desire to participate in:a certain. project designated as-the
BUTTE/GLENN/PLUMAS/COLUSA VICTIM WITNESS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM;
and
WHEREAS, the BUTTE/GLENN/PLUMAS/COLUSA VICTIM WITNESS
ASSISTANCE PROGRAM will be funded by the Office of Criminal
Justice Planning to provide said services on a regional basis
to counties of BUTTE, GLENN, PLUMAS, and COLUSA; and
WHEREAS, the County of BUTTE will provide Victim/Witness
Assistance services to the Counties of BUTTE, GLENN, PLUMAS,
and COLUSA; and
WHEREAS, the Counties of BUTTE, GLENN, PLUMAS, and COLUSA
will cooperate with one another to ensure the most efficient
delivery of Victim/Witness services to each county to be
served;
NOW THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED THAT THE BUTTE BOARD OF
SUPERVTSORS support the provision of services to crime victims
and witnesses and accept the delivery of those services will
be proveded by the BUTTE COUNTY.
BE TT FURTHER RESOLVED that BUTTE COUNTY will receive fund-
ing through the California Victim/Witness Assistance Program
administered by the Office of Criminal Justice Planning Ehere-
after referred to as OCJP); and that the County of BUTTE accepts
that any liability arising out of the performance of the ocJP
Grant Award Agreement, including civil court actions for damages,
shall be the responsibility of BUTTE COUNTY as the grant recip-
ient and the authorizing agency. The State of California and
OCJP disclaim responsibility for any such liability.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the State and Federal funds
received hereunder shall not be used to supplant local funds
that would, in the absence of the California Victim/Witness
Assistance Program, be made available to support the assistance
of victims and witnesses of crime.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Probation Officer of
the Butte County Probation Department is authorized; on the
County's behalf to execute any extensions or amendments hereafter.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Board of
Supervisors of the County of Butte held on the 21st day of
November 1989 by the following vote:
Ayes: Supervisors McInturf, Vercruse, McLaughlin and Chairman Fulton
Noes : None
Absent: Supervisor Dolan
