HomeMy WebLinkAbout90-013WHEREAS, the value of women to the history of our City, State and Federal Government is being highlighted in a month-long observance in Sacramento, California by the Commission on the Status of Women; and WHEREAS, working women today constitute a large segment of the nation's work force; and WHEREAS, an increasing number of women are seeking higher education and gaining advancement in business and professional institutions; and WHEREAS, women are consistently giving greater service to their communities through leadership in charitable organizations, volunteer service, and educational and cultural contributions; and WHEREAS, women have worked diligently and effectively in strengthening our representative forms of government and are increasingly involved in positions of political responsibility; and WHEREAS, women continue to achieve varied accomplishments while maintaining and giving sustenance to the family unit. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors does hereby proclaim the month of March, 1990, as WOMEN~S HISTORY MONTH and encourage all residents to acknowledge the value of women to the history of our State and encourage women to continue efforts resulting in establishing a higher quality of life for our community.
