solution No.
RESOLUTION TO ENDORSE EMERGENCY
HUMANE SERVICES FOR ANIMALS BY PAWS
WHEREAS, the County of Butte recognizes the need for
providing for stray pets in a manner that does not encourage
persons with unwanted pets to dump or abandon them. Since the
County paid the shelter charges for the average ten stray pets per
day brought to shelters by citizens up until November 28, 1989, and
has now discontinued such payment, and will not have funding for
such payments before July, 1990, funding is needed for a six month
period to cover these expenses; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County
Board of Supervisors endorses the proposal seeking grant funds in
the amount of $30,000 to cover these expenses for the period
February 1 to July 30, 1990. These funds are for the sole use of
payment to shelters by citizens of the county. No wages or
administrative overhead is provided in these grant funds, such
administrative and other expenses being paid by PAWS, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that when county
funding becomes available, any balance of grant money from this
proposal will be used exclusively for subsidizing spay/neuter
surgeries under the PAws low cost spay/neuter program for low
income residents of Butte County.
