HomeMy WebLinkAbout90-028PROCLAMATION CONFIRMING EXISTENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1323 of the County of Butte empowers the Director of Civil Disaster to proclaim the existence or threatened existence of a local emergency when said County is affected or likely to be affected by a public calamity and the Board of Supervisors is not in session, subject to ratification by the Board of Supervisors within seven days; and WHEREAS, conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have risen within this County, caused by a severe winter storm with heavy snow falls, commencing on or about 7:00 p.m. on the 1Sth day of February, 1990, at which time the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte was not in session; and WHEREAS, said Board of Supervisors does hereby find that the aforesaid conditions of extreme peril did warrant and necessitate the proclamation of the existence of a local emergency; and WHEREAS, the Director of Civil Disaster of the County of Butte did proclaim the existence of a local emergency within said County on the 18th day of February, 1990; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that the Proclamation of Existence of a Local Emergency, as issued by said Director of Civil Disaster, is hereby ratified and confirmed by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte; and IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that said local emergency shall be deemed to continue to exist until its termination is proclaimed by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California.
