RESOLIITION PROCLAIMING Resolufion
SOIL AND WATER STEWARDSHIP WEER
WHEREAS, the well-being of our people depends upon the
production of ample supplies of food, fiber and other products of
the soil; and
WHEREAS, the quality and quantity of these products
depend upon the conservation, wise and proper management of the
soil and water resources; and
WHEREAS, protection of our surface waters from pollution
is dependent upon protection of soils from being blown or washed
into those waters;
WHEREAS, conservation districts provide a practical and
democratic organization through which landowners are taking the
initiative to conserve and make proper use of these resources; and
WHEREAS, the soil conservation movement is carrying
forward a program of soil and water conservation in cooperation
with numerous agencies and countless individuals:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County
Board of Supervisors, in full appreciation of the value of our soil
and water resources to the public welfare, acid desiring to honor
those who protect those resources, da hereby proclaim April 29-
May 6, 1990 as SOIL AND WATER STEWARDSHIP WEER.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of
Supervisors on the 17th day of April, 1990 by the following vote:
AXES: Supervisors hlcInturf, Uercruse, Fulton and Chairman h1cLaughlin
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor Dolan
NOT VOTING: None
