mandatory allocation of funds for wildlife habitat protection and
land acquisition on the June 1990 ballot; and
WHEREAS, that new allocation of funds will impact
programs important to Butte County; and
WHEREAS, the measure potentially removes large tracts of
private land from the tax base and converts them to public lands,
thereby reducing the property tax based incomes to counties, cities
and other local government agencies; and
WHEREAS, other programs important to Butte County
residents including programs for recreational access, will also
be adversely affected by this ballot initiative; now
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors hereby registers its opposition to Proposition 117 and
urges that voters reiect Proposition 117 on the June ballot by
voting NO.

Supervisors by the following vote on r9ay 1, 1990:
