RESOLUTION OF THE BUTTE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
DECLARIN G THE WEEK OF MAY 7 THROUGH l2, 1990 AS
"CLEAN AIR WEEK"
WHEREAS, clean air is an absolute necessity if human life
is to be sustained; and
WHEREAS, each person must respire some thirty pounds of
air each day, and has no choice but to utilize the supply that is
immediately available; and
WT-IEREAS, the protection of the quality of the air supply
is the responsibility of every citizen through the effective use
of his/her voice in government; the thoughtful use of energy in
his/her personal life; and awareness of personal opportunities to
decrease one's own contributions to the air pollution problem; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Butte County
recognize the economic, health, and aesthetic value of the good air
quality that has been achieved in Butte County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that in order to celebrate
the clean air we have in Butte County and to encourage efforts by
all citizens of Butte County to preserve and enhance this clean
air, the Board of Supervisors hereby proclaim the week of May 7
through 12, 1990 as CLEAN AIR WEEK.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, this 15th day of May, 1990
by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors McInturf, Vercruse, Fulton and vice chair Dolan
NOES: None
ABSENT: Chairman McLaughlin
NOT VOTING: None
