HomeMy WebLinkAbout90-095RESOLUTION OF THE BUTTE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ADOPTING ELECTRONIC RECORDING DEMONSTRATION PROJECT IN THE BUTTE COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT PURSUANT TO CODE OF CIVIL PROCEDURE SECTION 270 WHEREAS, Code of Civil Procedure Section 270 as amended by Statutes of 1959, Chapter 678, Section 1, states the Judicial Council of California shall establish a demonstration project to assess the costs, benefits, and acceptability of utilizing audio and video recording as a means of producing a verbatim record of proceedings in up to 75 superior court departments. WHEREAS, the Butte County Superior Court has been authorized by the Judicial Council of California to use audio recording in one department. WHEREAS, pursuant to Code of Civil Procedure Section 270, the project shall commence after the Board of Supervisors adopts a resolution finding there are sufficient funds for the project, and the Superior Court adopts a local rule regarding the implementation of the project, and WHEREAS, effective July 1, 1990, the Butte County Superior Court has adopted General Local Rule 1.1 - The Electronic Recording Demonstration Project. WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors makes the following finds: 1. Because of Trial Court Funding, there are sufficient funds for the Electronic Recording Demonstration Project in the Butte County Superior Court, and 2. The Butte County Superior Court has adopted General Local Rule 1.1 - The Electronic Recording Demonstration Project which implements said project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors that the Electronic Recording Remonstration Project shall commence in the Butte County Superior Court, effective July 1, 1990, or as soon thereafter as is practicable. ..2 PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of June, 1990, by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors P9cInturf, Dolan, Vercruse, Fulton and Chairman P1cLaughlin NOES: None NOT PRESENT: None NOT VOTING: None c ED NfcLACJGHLIN, airman Butte County Board of Supervisors ATTEST: WILhIAM H.
