AN ORDINANCE ~JF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE
f~'~NDING ORDIIQ[-~IQCE NO, 885, THE UNIFOE2I~
BUILDING CODE, 1964 EDITION, FOR THE
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFtiRIQIA.
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte do ordain as
follows:
Ordinance Leo, 886 is hereby amended to include Section X{a}
as follo~•rs:
Section x (a )
Chanter 9, Section 901, Uniform Building Code, 1964 Edition,
Divisions 2 and 3, are hereby deleted and said Divisions 2 and 3
are amended to read as follows:
Division 2 .- Nurseries for the full-time care of children
under kindergarten age (each accommodating more than six
persons).
Hospitals, sanitariums, nursing homes witka
non-ambulatory patients and similar buildings (each
accommodating more than six persons).
Division 3 - Nursing homes for ambulatory patients, homes
for children of kindergarten age or over (each accommo-
dating more than six personsj.
Chapter 5, Table 5A, Uniform Building Code, 1964 Edition,
Groups D-2 and 3, are hereby deleted and said Groups D-2 and 3
pare amended to read as above.
Chapter 4,, Section 407, Uniform Building Code, 1964 Edition,
delete the definition of ~~ family" and said F~ family° definition is
amended to read as follows:
~~Family~~ is an individual of two or more persons related
by blood or marriage, or a group of not more than six
persons (excluding servants) who need not be related by
blood or marriage living together in a dwelling unit.
Chapter 4, Section 408, Uniform Building Code, 1964 Edition,
delete the definition of ~~hotel~° and said ~~hotel°definition is

"Hotel" is any building containing seven or more guest
rooms intended or designed to be used, or which are used,
rented, or hired out to be occupied, or r~hich are occupie
for sleeping purposes by guests.
Chapter 4, Section 413, Uniform Building Code, 1964 Edition,
delete the definition of "lodging house" and said °lodgir~ house°
definition is amended as follows:
"Lodging house" is any building or portion thereof,
containing not more than six guest rooms which are used
by not more than six guests where rent is paid in money,
goods, labor, or other*aise. A lodging house shal_L comply
with all the requirements of this Code for dwellings.
