MILT MC CLUNG
WHEREAS, Milt McClung joined the California Highway
.Patrol on November 30, 1964.
WHEREAS, Officer McClung graduated from the Academy on
March 26, 1965 and was assigned to the Lancaster area for 2 1/2
years. On December 7, 1967, Officer McClung was transferred to the
Oroville area where he faithfully served the residents of Butte
County for nearly 23 years.
WHEREAS, Officer McClung during his off-duty time
received his AA degree from Butte Community College in
Administration of Justice in June 1973.
WHEREAS, during his career, Officer McClung was trained
in many areas within the law enforcement field. His in-service
training included: narcotics enforcement, advanced drug
recognition expert, marijuana enforcement, automatic weapons,
officer safety instructor, physical performance standards,
Emergency Medical Technician I, radar enforcement, radiological
monitoring, and Campaign Against Marijuana Planting (CAMP).
WHEREAS, Officer McClung, while serving the Oroville
area, annually participated in the Campaign Against Marijuana
Planting (CAMP] program, a multiagency project under the California
Department of Justice dedicated to eradicating marijuana
cultivation throughout the State of California.
WHEREAS, Officer McClung for several years served as a
regional operations commander of the CAMP program and was
instrumental in its success. His enthusiasm and dedication was
recognized and commended twice by the Attorney General John K. Van
de Kamp.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board, on its
own behalf, and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte
would like to express their deep appreciation for the unselfish
dedication and devotion given by Milt McClung during his career
with the California Highway Patrol.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of
Supervisors this 10th day of July, 1990 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Fulton, McInturf, Vercruse and Chairman
McLaughlin
